What is the best way to build defined muscle?e.g that you often see in the lead actors of major movies like fight club,never back down and twilight. I am asking because there is so much conflicting advice.
Some people like rusty say you should do low reps to 'train the nervous system' while others say you should do many sets of high reps to 'shred' the muscles. Personally I have tried low reps as the fitness black book advices and it does'nt do much for me whereas higher reps 12-15 give me very defined muscles.
One thing that is interesting to note is that actors usually use higher reps of at least 15 for example cam gigandet was doing 50 reps on the pec deck and I imagine it is nearly impossible to get any more ripped him.
