I’m going to tell you something that not many people want to tell you. And that’s that those of us who care about healthy living have an agenda. We want people to eat healthy, to be healthy, and to feel good. And sometimes – we’ll use dieting as an excuse to convince people to eat healthier, happier lives by telling them that it’s necessary if they want to lose weight.
But the truth is that it isn’t necessary.
If you want to feel good, and look good (not just be slim, but toned), and get in great shape – then yes, a healthy diet will make a world of a difference. But if you ONLY want to lose weight, and aren’t interested in being strong, toned, and getting the health benefits that come with healthy eating – then ALL you have to do is eat less of whatever you’re doing! That’s it! That’s the whole secret to dieting!
A few important weight loss tips…
There are a few important weight loss tips you’re going to want to follow when you’re on your way towards creating a calorie deficit in your diet. They are:
1. Keep a journal of everything you’re eating and your current weight. Find out how many calories you have to eat in order to maintain your current weight.
2. To keep track of calories and foods, I highly recommend using the Nutrient Data Laboratory supplied by the U.S. government courtesy of the taxpayer, which is very likely you. So take advantage of it!
3. Eat 500 calories LESS a day in order to lose a pound a week.
4. Use exercise to get in great shape, not to lose weight. Focus exclusively on diet for your weight. Although if you want, you can check out the top 15 exercises to lose weight.
5. Track your progress. You can do this in the fitness journals section of our forums where you can also get encouragement and advice from other members as well as myself.
6. If you relapse, don’t use it as an excuse to completely leave your diet. Get back on track as soon as possible to minimize the damage of a relapse.
